Week 21 Master key Adventure

Limitations-Quotes-Limitations-can-only-be-true-as-long-as-we-believe-in-them.-Believe-in-yourself-instead.-Amazing-things-will-happen

As I was reflecting on all I have learned and applied in this class, I could see so many changes that have taken place, areas where I was stretched and was not sure I could endure but got encouragement from this class and  found I was stronger then I thought.

I have always been very hard on myself  expecting perfection but now I see how that has really put limitations on what I could actually do and become.   I am learning now how to take the pressure off myself and allow the authentic me to emerge.  I know it is a process  and I still struggle at times, but I am excited as I see this happening more and more.

I came across  a video by Phil Hansen,  titled  Embrace the Shake.

He had a physical  limitation that affected his hand.  He was an artist and  as he would try to draw his hand would shake uncontrollably. He went to a neurologist and  found out that he had nerve damage in his hand,  and the neurologist told him to  “Embrace the shake”  At that moment, he felt  his future as an artist was over  but In the process of time, he remembered what the doctor had said and  he decided to embrace the shake.  His choice to embrace his limitation drove his creativity and was creating art again,  but then he found himself in a dark place…unable to create, paralyzed by choices he never had before.

As he searched in his darkness, he realized if he wanted his creativity back, he had quit trying so hard to think outside the box and get back in the box. Thinking to himself, “could I be more creative by looking for limitations?”  We need to first be limited in order to be limitless.

He said “What seemed to be the ultimate limitation, became the ultimate Liberation. As he was committed to the process,  there were challenges along the way, but working through them, he was learning to let go of problems, failures, imperfections, and in return,  his creativity was unencumbered!

Finding a different way to create, inside the box,  with limited resources and learning to be creative in the confines  of his limitations,  he found was the best hope of transforming himself and the world around him.

Looking at limitations as a source of creativity can change your life.

Limitations may be one of the least ways of harnessing creativity but it helps us get out of ruts, challenging accepted norms.    Instead of saying “Cease the day, say …Cease the limitation”

I have limitations that are self imposed, as I find  different creative ways to use the resources  I have learned  in this course…(Law of Substitution, Growth Chart, Gratitude, the mental diet….,) and let go of those self imposed limitations, I have tools of expansion and then I can become transformed, limitless, completely unencumbered by them. Little by little, each step gets me closer.

May we finish strong and continue our journey!

As I have been adapting a positive mental attitude, I believe it gives me the best chance to succeed and it puts me in the best position to help others to succeed.  As I develop this mindset,  I keep these few things in my thinking:

*Life is filled with good and bad.

*Some of the good and bad I can’t control-that’s life.

*Some of the good and bad will find me.

*If I have a positive life stance the good and bad will become better.

*If I have a negative life stance the good and bad will become worse.

*I choose a positive mental attitude.

As I continue to do this, my life is more livable.  So why would I want to expect the worse? Instead , I live this day as if its my last.

The poet John Whittier expressed it this way:

No longer forward nor behind

I look in hope or fear;

But, grateful, take the good I find,

The best of now and here.

I do know that there will be some bad experiences along the way so when that happens, instead of letting it discourage me or make me angry, I try to find a way to let it prompt my creativity.

I found this story that I thought Illustrated  creativity in a bad situation:

This is a story about a chicken farmer whose land was flooded nearly every spring.  He didn’t want to give up his farm and move, but when the water backed up into his land and flooded his chicken coops, it was always a struggle to get his chickens to higher ground.  Some years he couldn’t move fast enough and all of his chicken drowned.

After the worst spring he’d ever experienced and losing his entire flock, he came into his farmhouse and told his wife, “I’ve had it.  I can’t afford to buy another place.  I can’t sell this one and I don’t know what to do.”

His wife replied, “Buy ducks.” ducks

The people who making the most of bad experience are the ones who find creative ways to meet them, like the farmers wife in the story.

They see possibilities within their problems. It becomes a tool of expansion!

I celebrate Life and Love.  What a wonderful gift and exciting adventure it holds each and every day!   I have so much to be thankful for and  for the many people who touch my life each and everyday. When I began this journey with the MKMMA class 19 weeks ago, I did not realize the effect we would all have on each other.  I appreciate each and every one in this class.  Thank you for all you give and the difference we are all making together.

I watched the movie “I AM” this week and wanted to just share some key thoughts from that film:

God uses people, and he doesn’t have anyone else but YOU.

The power of ONE, everyone has that power.  Just do something, get passionate and galvinate other to change.

Everyday acts, small acts can grow up to multiply and be spectacular in time.

Change happens because YOU are concerned.

People in the world, starving and hungry  affects me.  So I need to give more love, kindness and do whatever I can to make a difference.

We must do what inspires us, because nobody will want to do it with us, if were not passionate and inspired.

Only one way of eating an elephant…. one bite at a a time.

How do I bring out the good in other people?  Change my mind and my perception.  Love is the  Key!

Week 18 Master Key Adventure

WHY NOT YOU?

5 Ways Happy People Think Differently

I did struggle with giving myself permission.  I found myself  struggling with thoughts like, “you don’t deserve to be happy”  and  ” you don’t deserve to be successful”.  I knew that was not true and that those thought and emotions were not accurate but was fighting within myself for that permission until……

The day of the super bowl, there was a comment made at the end of the game by the quarterback of the Seahawks . His desire and his purpose showed forth in his word, and not only did his comment affect his own desire, it was contagious and effected the whole team.   When he was younger,  He was told he was too short to be a quarterback in the NFL.  His Father did not accept that as truth and made this statement to him….  “Why not you?”  He took that and said “Yes, Why not me?”

He not only saw his desire come true and became a NFL quarterback , but his team made it to the Superbowl and WON!   His attitude was contagious,  for  at the beginning of the season he encouraged  his team, by saying, “Someone is going to win the Superbowl, why not US?”  And that is exactly what they did!

So , if your still having a struggle, and giving permission to yourself is difficult, ask yourself this question……..WHY NOT YOU?            If you believe in yourself enough, you can make it happen.

Onward and Upward!

Week 17HJ Master Key Adventure

The Path to Successbutterfly5

This week was  good reminder for me on just how far I have come since this journey began 18 weeks ago.

The exercises, the Readings,  the Law of Growth charts, the  shapes and colors,  and the compounding effect has been life changing!

The degrees of success and happiness we achieve in life result overwhelmingly from the actions we take. But the actions which matter most are not those we do every now and then. It is our consistent actions (our habits) which more than anything else determine the direction and success of our lives. Thus, the first key to success, as we all have learned is to create good habits  + Constantly reminding ourselves of our dreams. (DMP)  kindling the flames of desire and light the fires of enthusiasm by reminding ourselves daily of our dreams.  As we envision the summits we  can reach, the rewards we can reap, and the heights of happiness we can enjoy.

Strive continually to activate,  nurture, and maintain the kind of desire that will make you a winner. For successful people, intense, burning desire is a habit, a way of life, and a deliberate course of action. In any worthwhile endeavor, ultimate victory goes to the individual with the most desire!

May we continue to move upward and onward!
