Week 23 Master Key Adventure/ Diamonds

Small diamonds on layered coal.

We are all a treasure, Natures Greatest Miracle! A diamond doesn’t start out polished and shining. It once was nothing special, but with enough pressure and time, becomes spectacular.  We are going through a process to become the beautiful diamond we were intended to be.

Hewn from rocks and pebbles, dirty murky beginnings.
Forgotten over time.
The harder you hit me, the brighter I shine.
The harder you rub me out, the brighter I shine.
The darkness you put me in, the brighter I shine.
The more you break me, the brighter I shine.
From all facets of light, through life and endless time,  I shine.
I am precious.
I am unbreakable.
I am strength unbound.
I can cut through you, and you will still desire me.
For is that not, what I was made to do?
I shine.
From the core.
Dig deeper and there you will find me.
A rich mans commodity.
A poor mans treasure.
I shine.
Keep me safe, and I will shine for you forever.

As I have been adapting a positive mental attitude, I believe it gives me the best chance to succeed and it puts me in the best position to help others to succeed.  As I develop this mindset,  I keep these few things in my thinking:

*Life is filled with good and bad.

*Some of the good and bad I can’t control-that’s life.

*Some of the good and bad will find me.

*If I have a positive life stance the good and bad will become better.

*If I have a negative life stance the good and bad will become worse.

*I choose a positive mental attitude.

As I continue to do this, my life is more livable.  So why would I want to expect the worse? Instead , I live this day as if its my last.

The poet John Whittier expressed it this way:

No longer forward nor behind

I look in hope or fear;

But, grateful, take the good I find,

The best of now and here.

I do know that there will be some bad experiences along the way so when that happens, instead of letting it discourage me or make me angry, I try to find a way to let it prompt my creativity.

I found this story that I thought Illustrated  creativity in a bad situation:

This is a story about a chicken farmer whose land was flooded nearly every spring.  He didn’t want to give up his farm and move, but when the water backed up into his land and flooded his chicken coops, it was always a struggle to get his chickens to higher ground.  Some years he couldn’t move fast enough and all of his chicken drowned.

After the worst spring he’d ever experienced and losing his entire flock, he came into his farmhouse and told his wife, “I’ve had it.  I can’t afford to buy another place.  I can’t sell this one and I don’t know what to do.”

His wife replied, “Buy ducks.” ducks

The people who making the most of bad experience are the ones who find creative ways to meet them, like the farmers wife in the story.

They see possibilities within their problems. It becomes a tool of expansion!

I celebrate Life and Love.  What a wonderful gift and exciting adventure it holds each and every day!   I have so much to be thankful for and  for the many people who touch my life each and everyday. When I began this journey with the MKMMA class 19 weeks ago, I did not realize the effect we would all have on each other.  I appreciate each and every one in this class.  Thank you for all you give and the difference we are all making together.

I watched the movie “I AM” this week and wanted to just share some key thoughts from that film:

God uses people, and he doesn’t have anyone else but YOU.

The power of ONE, everyone has that power.  Just do something, get passionate and galvinate other to change.

Everyday acts, small acts can grow up to multiply and be spectacular in time.

Change happens because YOU are concerned.

People in the world, starving and hungry  affects me.  So I need to give more love, kindness and do whatever I can to make a difference.

We must do what inspires us, because nobody will want to do it with us, if were not passionate and inspired.

Only one way of eating an elephant…. one bite at a a time.

How do I bring out the good in other people?  Change my mind and my perception.  Love is the  Key!

Week 18 Master Key Adventure

5 Ways Happy People Think Differently

I did struggle with giving myself permission.  I found myself  struggling with thoughts like, “you don’t deserve to be happy”  and  ” you don’t deserve to be successful”.  I knew that was not true and that those thought and emotions were not accurate but was fighting within myself for that permission until……

The day of the super bowl, there was a comment made at the end of the game by the quarterback of the Seahawks . His desire and his purpose showed forth in his word, and not only did his comment affect his own desire, it was contagious and effected the whole team.   When he was younger,  He was told he was too short to be a quarterback in the NFL.  His Father did not accept that as truth and made this statement to him….  “Why not you?”  He took that and said “Yes, Why not me?”

He not only saw his desire come true and became a NFL quarterback , but his team made it to the Superbowl and WON!   His attitude was contagious,  for  at the beginning of the season he encouraged  his team, by saying, “Someone is going to win the Superbowl, why not US?”  And that is exactly what they did!

So , if your still having a struggle, and giving permission to yourself is difficult, ask yourself this question……..WHY NOT YOU?            If you believe in yourself enough, you can make it happen.

Onward and Upward!

Week 17 Master Key Adventure

The Importance of a Warm, Rewarding Relationship.

I am so thankful for the challenges that come my way each and every day.  I am seeing changes happening all around me.  I think some of those changes are because I am now purposefully looking and focusing on one virtue each week.  The power of all of us collectively focusing on Kindness was amazing and absolutely FUN!  It made me ask myself the question, “What draws me to people?”

The  basis of life is People and how they relate to each other.  It is so very important that  I relate effectively.  I realized that the best way for people to be drawn to me,  is to develop those virtues that I am attracted to in others.

I came across this and thought it was a great reflection of the importance of a warm, rewarding relationship.

When special people touch our lives then

suddenly we see how beautiful and

wonderful our world can really be.  They

show us that our special hopes and dreams

can take us far by helping us look inward

and believe in who we are.  They bless us

with their love and joy through everything

they give.  When special people touch our

lives they teach us how to live.

I had to ask myself, “Does this reflect the kind of person I am to others?”   I believe that the law of growth is developing that in me and everyone in this class that is diligently doing the exercise.  We are all touching each others lives and growing together.  We may have different virtues we are focusing on but unified in our growth and that gives it power!  May we continue to grow, focusing on the virtue of the week and manifesting it more and more in our lives!

Week 14 Master Key Adventure

Happy New Year 2014

This past year has been one of growth and excitement!!!   There were challenges that strengthened me and allowed me to grow.  I can look back to the day I started this class, the many challenges I had to work through and  the growth that has taken place and  it  just fills my heart with Gratitude!

As I was reflecting back, it made me realize that  the Possibilities  of this New Year are endless.  I see each possibility as  presents waiting to be unwrapped, there is excitement for what  is in the boxes,  knowing there was thought, love and consideration put into each of these gifts.  All I have to do is unwrap each one  to expose what is inside.  It could be as small as a single success, or a huge challenge to overcome or one of the greatest triumphs I have ever seen but before I will ever know what it is, I must receive it to make it mine and accept it with gratitude , good or what I perceive as bad, knowing it is exactly what I need to reach my final goals.

We all have these gifts just waiting for us in this New Year, What will we do with them?

Will we accept them with Gratitude knowing the gift may not be what we wanted or will we just reject the gift and lose out on the possibility that lies inside? May we all accept them  with open arms  and continue growing upward and onward.  3645_gift

Week 3 Master Key Adventure

This week has been one of great challenges. Mark J has said that when you are under stress, you revert back to what is comfortable. I see first-hand this week how true that can be. For several days I have been battling a migraine and because of that, even the simplest of tasks have seemed daunting. It’s not so much the physical things, for I make myself do them, but the mental things are overwhelming.

Blogging definitely is mentally challenging for me as a beginner. This week, today, is one of those times I would prefer to close my laptop and hide from it all. That would be much more comfortable, but I took the challenge. No one ever said that forming new habits and changing would be easy! In spite of all I have faced this week, I have found that the new habits are beginning to stick. The successes I am seeing, and the promises I am keeping are super exciting to me.

As I am preparing the ground and taking in the new seed, like Og Mandino says “Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later” I want the root to be strong so it will grow into the Greatest of Olive Tree’s but I must examine the root of my thinking. My thoughts and actions flow from my assumptions. My assumptions are the root and my thoughts are the fruit. The fruit of right thinking is always an assumption based on TRUTH. I realize I don’t grow insecure, intolerant, or defensive without something to feed those feeling or thoughts. And changing the fruit (my thoughts and feelings) is impossible without changing the root (my assumptions). So as I begin to discover my own “root” I begin to experience freedom, knowledge and understanding because I am refusing things that are inaccurate, unkind and unedifying. Replacing them with what is good, kind and encouraging.
